Tradewind Recruitment is currently searching for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Wigan Primary School. The role will be diverse; with a mix of supporting students on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis. This SEND Teaching Assistant role will be mainly working within KS1.

The school are looking for a confident SEND Teaching Assistant, ideally with experience working with classes of pupils diagnosed with Autism. The ideal candidate will be confident offering personal care and have a positive approach to behaviour management.

The contract will commence ASAP until the end of the school year in July in the first instance. For a successful SEND Teaching Assistant there may be a permanent job offer in September 2026.

• Ideally previous experience working with SEND (preferred but not essential)
• A calm, confident demeanour with a proactive attitude
• A clear, enhanced DBS on the update service (or the means to apply for a new one)
