Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in an inclusive primary school? You’ll be joining a dedicated team within the school’s alternative provision classrooms, designed to give children in EYFS and KS1 the tailored support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Working closely with specialist staff, you’ll help deliver personalised interventions that build confidence, encourage positive behaviour, and promote social, emotional, and academic development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead bespoke one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual needs, guided by the SEND Information Report.
- Support children with a range of SEN, including Autism, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists.
- Help coordinate activities such as residential visits, theatre trips, and music lessons that broaden pupils’ horizons and experiences.
- Build positive relationships with families, external agencies, and school leaders committed to your ongoing professional growth.
Who You Are
- Experienced in supporting children with SEN and complex needs, with a confident, adaptable approach.
- Skilled in managing challenging behaviour positively and effectively.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Dedicated to making a real difference for children and eager to grow your skills.
