SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset (BS23)
Salary: -95 - -115 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP

What you will do

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
• Assist teachers and the SENCO with tailored learning plans
• Use positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
• Support children with personal care and physical needs where required
• Track and record pupil progress, raising concerns when necessary
• Encourage social, emotional, and academic development through strong relationships
• Help children stay motivated and engaged in lessons

The right SEN Teaching Assistant will have

• Previous experience working with children with SEN or challenging behaviour
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
