Bright Star Talent is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a-supportive primary school in Birmingham-who are looking to welcome an experienced and enthusiastic-SEN Teaching Assistant-to their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference within a welcoming primary school environment. You will be working closely with teaching staff and the wider SEN team to ensure pupils receive the individual support they need to feel confident, included and able to reach their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

  • Support children with needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and individual support.

  • Help pupils access learning by adapting activities and providing additional guidance where needed.

  • Support pupils with their emotional regulation, confidence and independence.

  • Promote positive behaviour using calm, consistent and nurturing approaches.

  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working with children within a primary school, SEN setting or similar environment.

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or behavioural needs.

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

  • A patient, caring and positive approach.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The confidence to support pupils both academically and emotionally.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them achieve their full potential.
