SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH School

Academics are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic SEMH schools in Canterbury from September.

This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and build positive relationships within a supportive school environment.

• Providing classroom support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups where required
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual pupil needs

• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour
• Is resilient, patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people
• Is available to work 5 days per week from September
• Holds an active DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one through Academics
