Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual who wants to help children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?

We are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Ware to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive and committed team.

The school supports pupils aged 2-19 with severe and complex learning difficulties, providing a personalised education that recognises every pupil''s individual strengths, needs and potential. Learning is built around developing communication, independence, confidence and essential life skills, ensuring that every achievement is celebrated.

The role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider team to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, participate in activities and develop new skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and personal development.
  • Helping to deliver engaging, practical and appropriately differentiated activities.
  • Supporting pupils with their individual needs, including sensory, physical and communication needs.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals.
  • Supporting pupils across different areas of the school, including swimming activities as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient, compassionate and enthusiastic.
  • Committed to supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • A confident team player who can follow guidance and work collaboratively.
  • Adaptable and able to respond positively to the changing needs of pupils.
  • Passionate about helping every child make progress, however big or small.
  • Experienced in SEN or education, or able to demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine commitment to learning.

Previous experience or relevant qualifications would be beneficial, but above all, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, values and willingness to make a positive difference.

If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference and want a role where your contribution truly matters, we would love to hear from you.
