A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chester is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism and moderate behavioural needs. This is a full-time role, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child receives consistent, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 in-class and out-of-class support to a pupil with autism and moderate behaviour challenges.
- Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the pupil''s EHCP and individual behaviour plan.
- Assist with the development of social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
- Liaise regularly with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents/carers to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with autism and/or behavioural difficulties.
- Possess strong behaviour management
- Be calm under pressure, consistent, and empathetic in their approach.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach training - desirable but not essential).
