This position suits a practitioner who holds high expectations whilst adapting their teaching intelligently, someone who understands that pupils working below age-related expectations are still very much young teenagers who deserve a curriculum and classroom that reflects that. About the Role: You will lead a small Year 7 class of pupils with autism, working approximately 2-3 years below age-related academic expectations but very much pre-teens and young teenagers socially and emotionally. As a general class teacher, you will deliver a broad, appropriately adapted formal curriculum across subjects, challenging and engaging pupils whilst remaining sensitive to their individual regulatory, behavioural and social needs.
