Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils'' individual learning needs.
Develop and implement personalised learning plans and individual education targets.
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
Use effective teaching strategies to support communication, social development and emotional regulation.
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and other professionals.
Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety and school policies are followed.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who is:
Qualified to teach in the UK, with QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experienced in, or passionate about, working with pupils with special educational needs.
Confident in differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning abilities.
Patient, compassionate, creative and resilient.
Skilled in behaviour management and building positive relationships with pupils.
An effective communicator who works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, complex needs or social, emotional and mental health needs would be advantageous.
