Salary: -140 - -220 per day (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm
About the School:
We are working in partnership with a well-regarded specialist secondary school in Wakefield that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team. The school provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school places a strong focus on wellbeing, consistency, and personalised learning. Through a carefully adapted curriculum and high levels of staff support, pupils are supported to make both academic and personal progress. The setting promotes confidence, independence, and positive social development.

About the Role SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEND
- Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports learning and behaviour
- Work closely with teaching assistants to maximise pupil progress
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing regular feedback
- Support pupils emotional regulation, social development, and independence
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil outcomes
What Were Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN/SEND)
- Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
- A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils to achieve their potential
To be Eligible You Must:
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS registered with the Update Service
- Provide two professional child-related references
