Salary: M1–UPS3 (£34,398–£52,490)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in Watford from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping every child achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative and experienced team, delivering high-quality, personalised teaching to pupils with a range of additional needs. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and is committed to creating a positive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and valued.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor and record pupils'' progress, adapting teaching strategies to support individual learning needs.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO, therapists and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest standard of support.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of pupils'' progress and development.
  • Encourage pupils'' independence, confidence, communication and social development.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute positively to the wider school community.

What We''re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, either within a specialist setting or in a mainstream school.
  • A good understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practice.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach to teaching.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
