Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a warm, inclusive, and supportive SEN school in Slough. We are currently seeking a full-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a committed and compassionate educator to join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality support for students with a range of additional learning needs.
We are looking for a SEND Teacher who can provide tailored, engaging instruction to students with varying special educational needs. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- ADHD and associated behavioural challenges
You will play a key role in creating a nurturing learning environment where each student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
About the Role:
- Foster a strong sense of inclusion by actively integrating students into the wider classroom community, encouraging positive social interactions and participation in group activities.
- Take initiative in delivering and managing individual education and behaviour plans, playing a key role in supporting studentsandrsquo; progress and development.
- Prioritise open communication by working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective support network for each student.
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with students by acting as both a mentor and a reliable source of encouragement, creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Apply skilled behavioural intervention techniques, turning challenges into meaningful learning moments through consistency, positive reinforcement, and strategic support.
The ideal candidate will:
- Approach each student with empathy and understanding, recognising the individual challenges they may face and responding with consistent patience and care.
- Adapt readily to change, adjusting support strategies to meet studentsandrsquo; evolving needs effectively.
- Communicate confidently and clearly to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals in delivering well-rounded student support.
- Demonstrate a positive, resilient attitude and model constructive behaviour, acting as a strong and inspiring role model for students.
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, contributing actively to meetings, planning, and the development of tailored support strategies.
- Proactively identify potential challenges and behavioural triggers, implementing early interventions to maintain a calm and productive learning environment.
