Are you a compassionate, creative, and committed educator with a passion for supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD)£ We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and forward-thinking special school in Aylesbury from September 2025. About the Role:
- Plan and deliver differentiated, multi-sensory lessons that meet the individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) of students with PMLD/SLD.
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment tailored to the specific cognitive and physical needs of each learner.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and support staff to ensure holistic support.
- Use a wide range of communication approaches including Makaton, PECS and AAC systems where appropriate.
- Foster independence, personal development and emotional wellbeing through structured routines and supportive interactions.
- Regularly assess student progress using individualised learning goals and evidence-based assessment frameworks (e.g., Engagement Model, PIVATS).
- Promote positive behaviour support and sensory regulation strategies throughout the school day.
- Participate in and lead therapeutic and enrichment activities such as sensory stories, music, cooking, or life skills.
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with severe or profound learning difficulties, ideally within a special school or SEN unit.
- Knowledge of specialist teachi
