An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school near High Wycombe this September. This part-time, permanent role is ideal for someone committed to supporting students with autism and related needs, including speech, language, sensory, and behavioural challenges.
Youandrsquo;ll work in a calm, structured environment with small class sizes and excellent staff-to-student ratios. The school values a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, providing personalised learning pathways to help every pupil thrive.
About the Role:
- Deliver customised lessons designed to meet the needs of pupils with complex challenges, primarily autism.
- Utilise structured routines and visual aids to enhance learning and communication.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, holistic support.
- Monitor pupil progress against EHCP goals and individual targets.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to promote emotional regulation and independence.
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the schoolandrsquo;s ongoing growth.
The ideal candidate will:
- QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Demonstrated experience supporting children or young people with SEN, preferably within specialist settings
- In-depth understanding of autism and related needs
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching
- Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
