A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a high-achieving, well respected, and well-resourced SEN school in Ealing. This SEN Teacher role is to cover a maternity leave starting after half term, with a strong emphasis on ensuring a thorough handover. The SEN Teacher position is expected to run until the end of the calendar year as a minimum.

The SEN Teacher Role
The successful SEN Teacher applicant will be teaching a Key Stage 4 class of 8 pupils with complex needs, and successfully line managing 2 highly skilled full-time Teaching Assistants.
Pupil needs include:
- Autism
- Down syndrome
- Global developmental delay
- Complex medical needs
- Severe arthritis with associated learning difficulties
- All pupils are verbal, though Makaton and PECS are used as communication tools.
Attainment levels: P6-P8
Curriculum focus: Sensory-based learning
The Ideal SEN Teacher Candidate
We are looking for an experienced or budding SEN Teacher who:
- Can plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to a sensory curriculum
- Has strong behaviour and classroom management skills
- Has a experience as a good or outstanding teacher
- Demonstrates passion, commitment, and adaptability
- Lives in Ealing area or commutable distance from school
- Is able to commit to the duration of the placement
Experience working in a UK school as an SEN Teacher in complex needs or EYFS is highly desirable, though strong mainstream teachers and overseas-trained teachers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
