Full Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 4:30pm
We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join a dedicated SEN/SEMH provision in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional social, emotional and mental health support.
The successful candidate will be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment, building strong relationships with students, and supporting them to achieve both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEN/SEMH needs
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external agencies
- Maintain high expectations for attendance, behaviour and achievement
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience working within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings is desirable
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
- Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people
Safeguarding Requirements:
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is required
- Applicants without one must be willing to obtain a new enhanced DBS prior to employment
