Setting: Special School (Ages 4-16)
Full-Time, Permanent
Needs: Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Communication & Sensory Needs
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a warm and inclusive special school in Brighton that caters to pupils aged 4-16 with a range of additional needs including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and communication and sensory processing differences.
As a permanent SEN Teacher, you''ll become a key part of a skilled, collaborative team committed to helping every child thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role - SEN Teacher
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Create a safe, consistent, and stimulating learning environment
- Implement EHCP targets and support personalised learning pathways
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families
- Use structured teaching strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that celebrates all achievements
What We''re Looking For - SEN Teacher
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience as an SEN Teacher or strong interest in SEN/ASD settings
- Understanding of autism, sensory needs, and differentiated learning
- Excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management strategies
- A child-centred, empathetic, and proactive approach
