About the role/school

We are seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist setting in Waltham Forest. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teacher, and the school is open to applications from ECTs who have a strong interest in special educational needs.

The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH and complex learning difficulties. The successful SEN Teacher will be joining a highly supportive team with experienced support staff and strong leadership.

This SEN Teacher role would suit someone who is patient, adaptable and confident in differentiating learning to meet individual needs. The school provides excellent training and ongoing CPD, making it an ideal environment for an aspiring or experienced SEN Teacher to develop their practice.

The appointed SEN Teacher will play a key role in creating a safe, structured and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons as an SEN Teacher to meet EHCP targets

• Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with ASD, SEMH and additional needs

• Work closely with teaching assistants and therapists

• Monitor and track pupil progress

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

• Maintain high safeguarding standards as a SEN Teacher

Qualifications/Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience working with pupils with SEND or a strong interest in becoming an SEN Teacher

• Open to Early Career Teachers

• Strong behaviour management skills

• A resilient, nurturing and flexible approach

• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service

• Right to work in the UK
