About the Role
A welcoming primary school in Limehouse is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to lead a specialist Autism Unit. The provision supports 10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, including both verbal and non-verbal learners.

The unit is well staffed with 3 Teaching Assistants and a HLTA, allowing for strong adult-to-pupil ratios and personalised learning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASC

  • Lead a small specialist class supporting communication and social development

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and parents

  • Implement structured teaching strategies for autism

  • Develop EHCP targets and monitor progress

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching pupils with autism or complex SEN

  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices

  • Ability to manage and lead a team of support staff

Desirable

  • Experience in specialist provisions or autism units

  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or sensory integration strategies
