Teaching Assistant - Deaf Hub Job Type: Part-time (4 days per week) Location: Peterborough Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Deaf Hub team in Peterborough. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting the educational development of hearing-impaired students. Day-to-day of the role: Assist in the delivery of educational programs specifically designed for hearing-impaired students. Support the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and effective learning environment. Facilitate communication between students and staff using appropriate sign language and other communication aids. Help prepare and set up resources and equipment needed for daily activities. Work closely with other professionals within the hub, such as audiologists and speech therapists, to implement comprehensive support plans for students. Monitor and support the progress and well-being of students within the hub. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience working with hearing-impaired students or in a similar educational setting is highly desirable. Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A caring and patient approach with the ability to encourage and inspire confidence in students.
