SEN TA - Severe complex needs

About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and complex needs. This role involves working closely with students who may have a combination of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and/or medical needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve greater independence in a safe and nurturing environment.Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, where requiredSupport communication using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or assistive technologyWork collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learningPromote positive behaviour using consistent and supportive approachesAdapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needsEnsure a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentSupport pupils during transitions, therapy sessions, and off-site activities where applicable The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working with children or young people with severe and complex needs (desirable but not essential)A calm, patient, and empathetic approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsThe ability to remain resilient in challenging situationsA willingness to support personal care needsRelevant ..... full job details .....
