The right candidate must be able to use the correct de-escalation methods to ensure the pupil is kept safe and is progressing academically with their work. For this role it is essential for a successful candidate to build a good relationship with the pupil and to best understand their needs and how to overcome any challenging situations. There is a special approach to this and to ensuring that they are understood and listened to.
