As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a pupil''s academic, social, and emotional needs. The role requires a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to help the pupil engage with learning, manage behaviour, and build confidence within the classroom environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and Autism.
  • Implement personalised strategies to support focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil''s individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support social interaction.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.


Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN support techniques.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
