Your new schoolYour new school is a specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils also have additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The school offers a therapeutic, nurturing environment focused on helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships. Your new roleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across a broad age range, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and achieve their individual goals. Working closely with teachers and therapeutic staff, you will provide both 1:1 and small group support, promote positive behaviour, and help create a safe and engaging learning environment.Key responsibilities include: Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and additional needs. Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions. Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Supporting both academic and personal development. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families. What you''ll need to succeed Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD or ADHD. A patient, resilient and empathetic approach. Strong communication and behaviour management skills. The ability to stay calm in challenging situations. A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
