SEN TA - Devizes

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a group or classroom setting, providing support with lessons, activities, and tasks.

• Support students in building academic skills and personal development, adapting teaching methods and materials to suit individual needs.

• Promote an inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to engage with the curriculum, participate in activities, and develop confidence.

• Help manage classroom behaviour, supporting students to follow instructions, build social skills, and improve concentration.

• Work closely with teachers and other staff members to plan and deliver tailored learning programs, track progress, and adjust support strategies as needed.

• Provide emotional and social support to students, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and confident in their learning environment.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable, but not essential.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and staff.

• A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children with diverse needs.

• Ability to adapt to different learning styles, with an understanding of the various SEN needs.

• Experience in supporting behaviour management in the classroom would be beneficial.
