Primary SEN School (specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder)We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school that caters to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time, long-term position supporting students with ASD.About the Role:You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance, helping create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Your role involves supporting academic progress, social, and emotional development.Key Responsibilities:Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groupsAssisting with classroom activities and lesson deliveryPromoting positive behaviour and emotional regulationHelping implement individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionalsEncouraging communication, independence, and life skillsRequirements:Experience working with children with ASD or in a SEN environmentA patient, nurturing, and proactive approachExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to build strong, supportive relationships with pupilsAn Enhanced DBS Certificate (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)Desirable:Experience with communication tools such as PECS or MakatonUnderstanding of sensory needs and behaviour management strategiesHow to Apply:If you''re enthusiastic about making a real impact in a specialist ASD primary setting, we would love to hear from you.
