SEN Science Teacher – Specialist Secondary School
Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Nottinghamshire on a permanent, part-time basis (3 days per week).
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Secondary Science Teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You'll teach GCSE Science to small classes of pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and additional learning needs, helping them build confidence, achieve qualifications and reach their full potential.

The Role
As the successful SEN Science Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated GCSE Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics where appropriate.
- Adapt learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH, SEND, ASD and ADHD.
- Create a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and contribute to EHCP outcomes where required.
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from teachers who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Secondary Science at GCSE level.
- Previous experience working within SEN, SEND, SEMH or alternative provision (desirable).
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- A flexible, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
