SEN Science Class Teacher

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Tooting, Southwest London.
Job Details:
- Role: SEN Science Teacher
- Start Date: September 2025 (Immediate interviews / trials)
- Contract: Long-term, temporary with the potential for a permanent position
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Tooting, Southwest London
- Pay: GBP140 - GBP260 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Parking: On-site parking available
About the School:
This is a specialist school for boys aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school prides itself on a supportive team culture and a strong emphasis on providing a tailored, nurturing educational environment that encourages every student to thrive.
What Were Looking For:
- A qualified Science Teacher with experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confidence in planning and delivering differentiated Science lessons (KS3-KS4)
- A creative, hands-on approach to teaching practical subjects
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting disengaged learners
Essential Requirements:
- QTS or QTLS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
- At least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN/SEMH
- A valid Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) registered on the Update Service
- Two recent professional references (ideally from an education setting)
Ideal for:
- Experienced SEN or SEMH Science Teachers
- Mainstream Science Teachers with a passion for inclusive education
- Educators with backgrounds in PRUs, APs, or SEMH schools
