Are you an enthusiastic individual with a passion for sports and supporting students with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN PE Teaching Assistant to join a local school in Bournemouthstarting immediately.

About the Role:

As an SEN PE Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers to deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs of students with additional requirements. You will encourage participation, promote teamwork, and provide one-to-one or small group support, ensuring that every child has the chance to reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of PE lessons, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for students with SEN.
  • Provide individualised support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to participation.
  • Encourage and motivate pupils to build confidence, teamwork, and physical skills.
  • Assist with classroom activities, behaviour management, and student progress tracking.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that supports the wellbeing of all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or SEN setting.
  • Sports coaching experience, or a background in physical education.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or a degree in Physical Education or Education, SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, positive attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
