Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, not pro rata

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a special needs school in Stoke-on-Trent supporting pupils aged 7 and upwards with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The school provides a nurturing environment with a strong focus on therapy, education and personal development, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The school is looking to appoint a Maths Lead on a permanent, term-time-only basis, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful Maths Lead will combine excellent classroom teaching with subject leadership, developing the Maths curriculum, supporting colleagues, overseeing accredited pathways and contributing to whole-school improvement.

The successful Maths Lead will have:

• UK QTS or equivalent and degree-level education

• Strong subject knowledge across number, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving

• Experience delivering accredited Maths pathways including Functional Skills, Entry Level and GCSE

• Experience planning and delivering differentiated Maths lessons to meet individual needs

• Strong understanding of assessment and using data to support pupil progress

• Empathy, resilience and confidence managing challenging behaviour and supporting pupils with additional needs

In return for the above you can expect to receive:

• Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, not pro rata

• Permanent, term-time-only contract

• 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
