Position: Learning and Support Assistant Contract Type: Part-time Permanent Work, Part-time Temporary Work Start Date: 02/11/2026 Location: Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, UK Salary: 19,399 - 20,447 Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Pay follows school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable. Supporting learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, you will build trusting relationships that encourage confidence, independence and positive routines. Working alongside teachers, you will support classroom learning, small groups and individual sessions, contribute to education and behaviour plans, and record progress. You will also collaborate with families, therapists and psychologists to help learners overcome barriers to learning. This role suits someone calm, adaptable and committed to recognising small steps forward. A supportive team and ongoing training will help you develop your SEMH practice.
