Learning Support AssistantLocation: Rural Burgess Hill, West SussexDaily Rate: Circa £120 Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time OnlySchool provided free shuttle bus from BrightonJoin our specialist school as a Learning Support Assistant, dedicated to supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a calm, structured environment and is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.Day-to-day of the role:Support students in lessons to help them access learning and stay engaged.Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social interaction.Assist with lesson delivery, both in small groups and 1:1 settings.Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.Maintain accurate records of progress and support individual learning plans.Required Skills and Qualifications:Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with ASD or other special educational needs.Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how it can be adapted for learners with additional needs.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet individual student needs.Commitment to safeguarding and professional development.GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent).Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or willingness to train).Understanding of safeguarding, ..... full job details .....
