Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, engaging, and accessible tutoring sessions for learners with SEN (e.g. ADHD, autism, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, SEMH).
Assess student needs and design individualised learning plans.
Use creative strategies and resources to support learning and confidence building.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers, or educational professionals.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Work flexibly, either in-person or online, depending on the needs of the student.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or support setting.
Strong understanding of various learning difficulties and effective support strategies.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. PGCE, QTS, HLTA, SEN Diploma, or equivalent experience).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
[Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one.]
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience with EHCPs and working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
Training in specific SEN-related interventions or programmes (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, Zones of Regulation, etc.)
