Are you an experienced or aspiring SEN teacher ready to make an immediate impact? Do you want to work in a school where inclusion, wellbeing, and individual growth are at the heart of everything?

Long Term Futures is supporting a well-established special school in Birmingham, educating students aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), SEMH challenges, and other learning differences. The school offers a structured, caring environment and is part of a wider trust dedicated to high-quality, inclusive education.

The Role:
We''re looking for a full-time SEN teacher to start immediately, leading a small, well-supported class in the secondary and post-16 setting. You''ll deliver differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil''s EHCP, supporting their progress, independence, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons across a variety of abilities

  • Maintain a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment

  • Support students with ASD, SEMH, and complex needs using evidence-based approaches

  • Collaborate with therapists, pastoral staff, and families to adapt learning plans

  • Encourage emotional regulation, communication, and independence

  • Track pupil progress and contribute to annual reviews and reporting

What We''re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

  • Experience in an SEN or inclusive secondary/post-16 setting - desirable

  • Strong understanding of neurodiversity, emotional development, and curriculum adaptation

  • Positive behaviour management skills and a collaborative mindset

  • A genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs
