Working closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, parents and external agencies, the successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the SEN department.

Previous school-based administration experience is highly desirable, although applications are also welcomed from candidates with strong administrative experience and a genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and confident managing a busy workload. They will play an integral role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating documentation and supporting the delivery of SEN provision across the school.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous administration experience, ideally within a school environment.
  • Possess excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Be confident maintaining accurate and confidential student records.
  • Have experience liaising with parents, staff and external professionals.
  • Be able to prioritise multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of SEN processes, EHCPs and annual reviews (desirable).
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and school management systems such as SIMS (desirable).
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Previous administration experience is essential.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using SIMS or other school databases is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).

To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:

  • Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all compliance procedures.
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
