A Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter is required for a busy engineering company based in Bedford. -The company design and manufacture heavy, specialised capital equipment.

Reporting into the Operations Manager you will be part of a small team responsible for hydrostatic testing and fettling of components. -You will responsible for pressure test components and hydrostatic testing. -This requires an individual who is mechanically minded, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to think on their feet to resolve issues as they arise. -You will also use a variety of handheld power tools for the fettling and shaping of components. -The ability to read engineering drawings and follow work instructions, check lists and visual aids will be required for this.

The successful candidate will have several years experience working in a similar mechanical assembly environment. -Experience will have been gained in a light to medium mechanical engineering operation. -Experience in reading engineering drawings, manufacturing, and quality check lists is required. -Any experience of pressure testing would be advantageous, as would overhead crane and forklift experience.
