Semi Senior Accountant

An established independent accountancy practice in Sheffield is looking to appoint a Part Qualified Accountant to its growing team. The firm works with a varied client base, ranging from sole traders and owner-managed businesses through to larger organisations, providing accounts, tax, audit and wider advisory services. Working as part of an experienced practice team, you will manage a varied workload while developing your technical and client facing skills. The role will provide exposure across accounts preparation, management accounts, VAT and bookkeeping, with opportunities to gain further experience in audit and advisory work. Key responsibilities: Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Assist with the preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules Complete bookkeeping assignments and maintain accurate accounting records Prepare and submit VAT returns for a portfolio of clients Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Use cloud and desktop accounting packages including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Support senior colleagues with audit assignments and compliance work Assist with reviewing accounting processes and identifying opportunities for improvement Liaise with clients and colleagues to obtain information and resolve queries Candidate profile: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment Studying towards AAT, ACCA or another relevant accounting qualification, ..... full job details .....
