SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Smethwick Contract: Temporary School Type: 2-Form Entry Primary School Hours: Monday Friday 8:30am 4:00pmAbout the Role We are working closely with a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Smethwick who are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.This role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties. You will play a key role in helping pupils regulate emotions, remain engaged in learning, and feel safe and supported within the school environment.The Ideal Candidate Will: Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs, including challenging behaviour Be confident working 1:1 and in small groups Demonstrate a calm, patient, and consistent approach Be available 5 days per week, 8:30am 4:00pm Work effectively as part of a wider classroom and pastoral team Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain a new DBS through TeacherActive Ability to provide 2 references from recent employers Eligibility to work in the UK Qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2 or Level 3) are desirable but not essential experience is key Why Apply?
