About the Role:
An ambitious and forward-thinking school in Milton Keynes (MK4) is looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide structured support to students with social and emotional difficulties. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to help young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a caring, well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and classroom support for pupils with SEMH
- Help pupils engage with the curriculum and improve self-regulation skills
- Support the delivery of tailored learning and emotional support programmes
- Track progress and contribute to individual support plan reviews
- Use restorative approaches to support behaviour
- Encourage inclusion, motivation, and independence in students
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEMH, youth mentoring, or alternative provision (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, consistent, and confident in managing behaviours
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Team Teach or equivalent training (advantageous but not essential)
