Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wendover is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who experience social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them regulate emotions, build resilience, and fully engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with class teachers to support the emotional and academic development of pupils
- Deliver small group and individualised interventions based on SEMH needs
- Support pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Implement and review behaviour and education support plans
- Foster therapeutic and trusting relationships with children
- Collaborate with families, SENCO, and external agencies
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEMH/SEN pupils (preferred)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Patient, calm, and emotionally resilient nature
- A valid enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply
- Training in Team Teach, mental health, or trauma-informed practice (beneficial)
