SEMH Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Enhanced Resource Base (SEMH) Location: Cambridge
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Enhanced Resource Base, supporting pupils who require additional support with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference and helping children feel supported, confident and successful in school.
The role will include:
- Supporting pupils within the Enhanced Resource Base
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Helping pupils engage with learning and school routines
- Working alongside teachers and other support staff
- Providing support in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence managing behaviour in a positive and supportive way
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
Experience in an SEMH, specialist or resource base setting would be highly desirable, although transferable experience will be considered.
