SEMH Teaching Assistant
Your new schoolHays Education are seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in SEMH schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and alternative provisionsacross the Manchester area. These settings support children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, often requiring a tailored approach to learning and behaviour management.Location: nManchester area Contract: Flexible supply work (full-time or part-time) Pay: Competitive daily ratesKey Duties/Responsibilities:Support pupils with SEMH needs in small groups or 1:1 settings.Assist with classroom activities and behaviour management strategies.Build positive relationships and provide emotional support to pupils.Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.Key Skills/Experience:Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school or care setting)Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable)Training in behaviour management/team teach (desirable)Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approachAbility to adapt to different settings and work flexiblyEnhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)Benefits:Flexible working to suit your availabilityRoles available in local schoolsTemp to perm placement opportunitiesOpportunities to work with a variety of schools, children and age rangesCompetitive daily ratesOpportunity to make a real difference in the lives of ..... full job details .....
