SEMH Teaching Assistant – Merton

Salary: £85 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term

GSL Education is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant for a special school in Merton, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH, both 1:1 and in small groups.

• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and pupil engagement.

• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils.

Requirements:

• Previous SEMH support experience is desirable.

• Patience, empathy, and resilience.

• Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
