Veritas Education are excited to be working with a well-established SEN school in Wandsworth, looking for an empathetic and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and you will play a pivotal role in helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with SEMH in the classroom and during activities.

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to help with academic progress and emotional development.

• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging emotional well-being and positive behavior.

• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create tailored learning plans.

• Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies.

• Help with personal care or additional support where required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH or other SEN is highly desirable.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.

• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students.

• A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

• Team player who is willing to collaborate and contribute to a positive school environment.
