A welcoming Lambeth primary school with a specialist SEMH provision is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in KS1 within a mainstream setting, helping them reach their academic and social potential.
Key Responsibilities of the SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Implement strategies and support plans designed by the SENCo.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in the classroom.
Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs.
Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.
Collaborate with class teachers, SEN staff, and leadership.
What the School is Looking For:
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or similar needs in primary school.
Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
