SEMH Teaching Assistant - Boys'' Specialist School - WandsworthAre you a confident, resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting boys with SEMH and challenging behaviour?We are recruiting for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist boys'' school in Wandsworth, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.This role would suit someone who can build strong relationships with young people, maintain clear boundaries and remain calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour.The RoleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged boys.Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.Support emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and social development.Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies.Encourage pupils to engage with learning and develop greater independence.Support pupils inside and outside the classroom.Act as a positive role model and trusted adult.Support pupils during lessons, break times, interventions and school activities.Maintain clear and consistent boundaries.Follow individual behaviour and support plans.Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs and other professionals.Help maintain a calm, safe and structured environment.Who We''re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:Strong experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.Experience in specialist ..... full job details .....
