SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)Location: ScunthorpeHours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time position, working closely with pupils who have special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons- Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing Requirements: - Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable)- Understanding of autism and ADHD, and strategies to support these needs- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach- Strong communication and teamwork skills- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children What We Offer: - A welcoming and supportive school environment- Opportunities for professional development and training- The chance to make a meaningful difference in pupils'' ..... full job details .....
