About the Role:
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Southend-on-Sea that is seeking a resilient and dedicated SEMH Teacher. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to re-engage with education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs

• Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

• Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional development

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals

• Monitor and track student progress, adapting approaches where necessary

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (highly desirable)

• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach

• Ability to inspire and motivate disengaged learners

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
