SEMH Teacher – Full Time

GSL Education Hull are currently seeking a resilient and committed SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic secondary setting on a full-time basis.

This provision supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom require additional support to re-engage with education. The school prides itself on its nurturing approach, strong pastoral support, and commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning. With a focus on building positive relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing, staff work collaboratively to create a safe and structured environment where every student can succeed.

The Role:

• Full-time SEMH Teacher position within a specialist setting
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
• Supporting students with complex behavioural and emotional needs
• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies
• Building strong, trusting relationships to support student progress and wellbeing
• Working closely with support staff, SENCO, and external agencies

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
• Have experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour
• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
