SEMH Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team from September.
This is a full-time, term-time-only position, working 8:30am-3:30pm, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide consistent, positive and nurturing support to pupils, helping them to manage their emotions, develop confidence and engage successfully in their education.
You will ideally have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional needs. Most importantly, you will be patient, resilient, caring and committed to making a positive difference.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is an advantage
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
DBS: Candidates who require a new Enhanced DBS will be supported through the application process. The cost of the DBS can be refunded after 20 days of successful employment.
